Vascular Lesions
There is one type of laser specially designed to correct without risk, vascular lesions such as congenital spots, telangiectasia (visible spider-veins), recent stretch marks, and some surgery scars, acne or burns.
The laser is an instrument that releases a lot of energy in a very short time. By applying this small beam of concentrated light on the vascular lesion energy produces a coagulation of the blood vessels in the skin getting them disappear without damaging nearby healthy tissue. Once treatment is completed the skin regains its tone and natural beauty.
TREATMENT
Before starting treatment the doctor must clean the area very well. It does not require anesthesia. To minimize discomfort we use a cold system that protects the skin.
When performing the treatment, it depends on the type of skin, the extent of injury and the patient's age. Usually done three to four sessions of about 15 minutes to correct an injury. Sessions should be spaced about four weeks.
After treatment a flushing sensation and a small swelling occurs but then disappear
RESULTS
The results of laser treatment of vascular lesions are generally very satisfactory. For small red vascular lesions (diameter less than 1mm) with pulsed dye laser-neodymium: YAG and intense pulsed light very good results are usually achieved in three sessions. The result can be seen within a few days with a narrowing of the veins and the disappearance of some others.
However, keep in mind that several sessions are needed to see the final results because, for example, the veins take several weeks to resorb.
